Yann, an RSPA Certified Elite Professional, has been teaching greatness on another level and having fun for 25+ years!
A tennis fanatic since adolescence, Yann joined his high school tennis team as a 7th grader and played #1 singles for six straight years leading his team to three league championships. He was a five time league singles champion with the most singles wins in school history (84) and most in a single season (21). Knowing tennis was undeniably his calling, he got a jump start on his fulfilling teaching career as the Director of Junior Development at TPC Piper Glen at just 22 years old, then went on to further cement his status as one of Charlotte’s most beloved instructors as the owner and operator of the Tennis Academy of North Carolina, which passionately served the community for 18 years, creating a legion of the area’s most dominating homegrown players.
Throughout his TANC Tennis tenure, Yann simultaneously opened up Charlotte Tennis Shop, and found more success in coaching several middle & high school teams while building programs for the YMCA and USTA’s Junior Team Tennis. He also held positions as the Director of Tennis at both Matthews Tennis Club and Rolling Hills Country Club before becoming Director of Tennis at Creekside Tennis & Swim Club in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, where he led nine adult teams to the city LCTA Championships with five winning the championship and one winning the state title under his guidance. He was awarded a Local Tennis Hero by USTA South Carolina in 2024 and voted Mount Pleasant Magazine's Best Tennis Pro 2025. He truly facilitates the fun in tennis through entertaining tennis socials and events and believes strongly in maintaining the positive atmosphere and welcoming environment to make tennis enjoyable for all. Now, Yann has taken his talents to Dunes West Tennis Club, where he's excited to bring his infectious high energy to the courts for lessons and privates!
At the heart of it all, Yann is a dedicated family man off the court to his wife, Sherlyn, daughter, Joely, and son, Kyle, &, on the court, he loves his tennis family just the same; taking every opportunity to dress up, cheer loud, & support the ever growing Lowcountry tennis community!
